The Canadian media often distorts the truth in order to bolster support for the tarsands companies. For instance, they continually give the impression that the tarsands are being exploited for the good of Canadian workers, when the multinational oil companies have nearly completely broken Alberta’s construction unions. The sad reality is that the media is complicit with the provincial government in selling out Canadians in favor of corporations only too happy to deprive them of their basic rights and freedoms.
